Feel Good Friday: Song Lyrics

While this sunburn does not FEEL GOOD...It is FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!!

So, today your Feel Good Friday Assignment is to post SONG LYRICS that make you happy, that teach you more about yourself...about God, that make you cry, that make you feel special...that make you "feel good".

Of course, you can add other things too...like

*I had a blast with Tulip at the pool this week.
*I am so happy that I got a report that My Little Horn is likely nothing...and if, in the next month or so, it does not get bigger or change in any way (and my health doesn't either) that's even a better sign. *sigh*
*I have a great MOM who stayed on the phone with me as long as I wanted when I was lonesome and worried about My Little Horn.

BUT...here are the lyrics that I'm posting today. They make me "feel good" because every time I hear the song I learn more about how blessed I am to have the God that I do.

Mystery of Mercy

I am the woman at the well,
I am the harlot
I am the scattered seed that fell along the path
I am the son that ran away
And I am the bitter son that stayed

My God, my God why hast though accepted me,
When all my love was vinegar to a thirsty King?
My God, my God why hast though accepted me,
It's a mystery of mercy and the song, the song I sing.

I am the angry man who came to stone the lover
I am the woman there ashamed before the crowd
I am the leper that gave thanks
I am the nine that never came

My God, my God why hast though accepted me,
When all my love was vinegar to a thirsty King?
My God, my God why hast though accepted me,
It's a mystery of mercy and the song, the song I sing.

You made the seed that made the tree
That made the cross that saved me
You gave me hope when there was none
You gave me your only Son

My God, my God, Lord you are
My God, my God, Lord you are...

Wow...wow. These lyrics are so powerful and lately more than ever speak to me. How is this relevant to "Feel Good Friday?" Well, while "feelings" are soooo changeable, my feeling about this song could never change. It gives me the feeling of security...I can be the son who left or the son who stayed and He is still My God. He set everything in motion...the seed, the tree, the cross...He is sovereign. No matter what I've done, He still accepts me. Of course, there is a lot more than just "feeling good" when it comes to this song and God...but it does make me feel good to know that I'll never be alone, never be cast away, never be without God. You can hear a portion of the song HERE.

I have the MP3 file...if you want to hear the whole thing. Just email me. *smile* I think it's legal for me to share it 3 times...that's what I thought my Lawyer Husband told me. Anyone know what the rules are here?

What song does this for you? It doesn't have to be spiritual...but what song touches you and makes you "feel good." Hope you join in!!!!

LOVE me some Caedmon's. And Derek Webb.

His song that totally makes me smile is I Wanna Marry You All Over Again. Have you heard it?

Thanks for your comment re: my eye - I think it's just a cold in my eye, if that makes any sense!

I was able to combine my first date memory with Hubby with song lyrics. Makes me heart melt every time he sings this song!

Love the lyrics! I think Feel Good Friday is a great end to weekdays. Sorry I didn't get to participate. It was a hectic, long day but good, ending with ice cream. I hope your sunburn is feeling better.

Whatever You're Doing ... by Sanctus Real -

Great significance - as we pray for our daughter to come to know her Father in Heaven -

Great song and video - I blogged the video and lyrics this weekend - It appears not many have heard this tune - but here in AZ - it's played a great deal -

Blessings to all!
